Whenever objects and materials loose their practical function

they gain poetical function.

My work begins with a careful observation of my surroundings. In my daily journey in Rio de Janeiro, I have encounters with prosaic materials, spaces and situations that are chosen to be poetically revisited, reorganized, and sometimes just highlighted.

I recombine the diverse elements I find between the city and the beach, the chaotic and the calm, and try to find relations between the worlds I see unfold in front of me.

Through simple operations I intend to create arrangements that offer a new perception for what we already know too well. Regardless of the media, I understand my work as action - whether in the landscape with large installations or in monotypes on paper. I use different techniques, such as sewing, painting and sculpting, seeking to formalize ideas that always count on the process as co-author. I’m addressing different times and traditions and proposing a new way of seeing the world around us.
